Trains to Tyseley - Station Details and further Information on Tyseley Train Services
Tyseley train station serves the district of Tyseley in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. It is situated at the junction of the lines from Birmingham towards Leamington Spa and Stratford-upon-Avon, and is adjacent to a large railway depot and Tyseley Locomotive Works. The station is served by London Midland (who manage the station). The main station building sits on a bridge over the tracks. It shares the bridge with Wharfedale Road (the B4146).
Due to increased demand, Tyseley has had extensive track layout modification, to allow all four platforms use (previously, only 3 and 4 were used). Work has also commenced on upgrading the Solihull line by adding a third track.
Following the Birmingham to Warwick resignalling of 2007-08, 2 disused platforms were brought into use, with services to and from Solihull now able to use the new 60mph Tyseley North Junction. Two new junctions have been built at each end of the station, which allows non-stopping services for Snow Hill to cross from Solihull at 60mph.
Services are currently half hourly, with one per hour to Dorridge and Shirley, and two per hour to Birmingham. The former Great Western Railway building and platform canopies are listed. |
