Skegness train station serves the seaside resort of Skegness in Lincolnshire, England. Services are operated by East Midlands Trains which run to and from Nottingham, where services originate or terminate. Skegness train station has good links to local public transport with a taxi rank nearby the station. Adjacent to the train station is the town's bus station (follow the signs on the main concourse) which has services up the coast.
The current station has toilet facilities with a baby change and a specialist service for the disabled, and a small newsagent stall. There is 24 hour CCTV in operation at this station and there are staff patrolling the concourse area to give information when trains are due to arrive or depart. There is also a ticket office staffed from 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Saturday.
Six platforms remain operational but in practice only two (platforms 3 and 4) are used regularly Departures to Nottingham are hourly with all but 2 services calling at Grantham (the 17:30 and 21:00 being the ones which do not), Boston and Sleaford.
Winter timetables only differ on a Sunday with the Monday to Saturday times remaining as frequent as in the summer. On Winter Sundays there are generally departures in the afternoon only. Summer Sundays have departures from early morning until approximately 8:30 p.m. |
