Trains to Rose Grove - Station Details and further Information on Rose Grove Train Services

Rose Grove train station serves the western area of Burnley in Lancashire, England, 11 miles east of Blackburn railway station. On weekdays, there is an hourly service from Rose Grove to Colne (eastbound) and Blackpool South via Preston (westbound). On Sundays, there is a two-hourly service in each direction.

The Caldervale Line and the East Lancashire Line join at Gannow Junction near Rose Grove, but there are no direct services between here and Burnley Manchester Road. Trains go instead towards Burnley Central and Colne.

The station is a long island platform, with a disused bay platform at each end - one formerly used by local trains to Blackburn via Padiham and the other for services to Todmorden. It is unstaffed, but there is an information board at the station entrance.

Rose Grove was formerly the site of an engine shed, which was one of the last to house steam locomotives on British Railways. The site is now beneath the M65 motorway, which runs beside the railway at this point.
