Trains to March - Station Details and further Information on March Train Services
March train station serves the town of March in Cambridgeshire, England. The station is 14 miles east of Peterborough on the Ely to Peterborough Line.
The station was once a major railway junction with a confluence of lines radiating from the town, although today the station is very much a shadow of its former self. It originally had six platforms, although two of these are now filled-in bay platforms, and the tracks have been removed on a further two platforms on the northern side of the station, leaving just two operational platforms. Nearby can be found the Whitemoor marshalling yards, which have now been returned to use in 2004 having been disused since the early 1990s.
On Weekdays, National Express East Anglia operate a two hourly service eastbound to London Liverpool Street and westbound to Peterborough. CrossCountry operate an hourly service eastbound to Cambridge and Stansted Airport, westbound services serve Peterborough, Leicester and Birmingham New Street.
On Sundays the service frequency is similar, without CrossCountry services to Whittlesea and Manea. |
