Longbeck train station serves the village of Marske-by-the-Sea and also New Marske in the borough of Redcar and Cleveland and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire. It is located on the Tees Valley Line and operated by Northern Rail who provide all passenger train services. The station is a recent addition to the route, having been opened in May 1985. The small signal box here supervises the junction & station area at nearby Saltburn and the freight line to Boulby as well as the adjacent level crossing.

There are two trains per hour in each direction from the station during the day, to Saltburn eastbound and Middlesbrough & Darlington westbound with some of the latter continuing to Bishop Auckland. This drops to hourly in the evenings and on Sundays.
