Trains to Haddenham & Thame Parkway - Station Details and further Information on Train Services
Haddenham and Thame Parkway train station serves the village of Haddenham in Buckinghamshire and town of Thame in Oxfordshire. The station is located on the western edge of Haddenham, two miles north east of Thame, and is served by Chiltern Railways.
The station was opened on 3 October 1987 to serve the village of Haddenham and the town of Thame, which had both lost their stations in the mass closures of the 1960s. The station was built on the north side of Thame Road, Haddenham, and was originally single platform, with the platform sited on the former down line, long since removed. However, in 1998 as part of 'Project Evergreen,' Chiltern Railways re-doubled the Princes Risborough-Bicester line and re-modelled the platforms so that from 24 May 1998, there are now two, one on either line. Since then the platforms have also been lengthened and the station building has been expanded to include a coffee shop following the removal of the newsagents based in a temporary building.
Until 1963 there had been a station at Haddenham, on a different site approximately half a mile to the south-east. |
