Trains to Fishguard Harbour - Station Details and further Information on Fishguard Harbour Train Services
Fishguard Harbour train station serves the port of Fishguard Harbour, Wales. It is the terminus of one of the branches of the West Wales Line from Swansea.
Passenger services are operated by Arriva Trains Wales. There are only two trains each day, to connect with Stena Line ferries to Rosslare, Ireland. First Great Western operated the night service in the winter and both day and night services in the summer from London Paddington until 2003, when the company ran them to Carmarthen only. A Class 158 diesel multiple unit usually works the twice daily service. The Monday to Saturday daytime service originates from Cardiff Central and calls at Llanelli and Whitland only, bypassing Swansea via the Swansea District Line and Carmarthen via the freight-only loop and runs non-stop through the local intermediate stations. Before the train departs Cardiff Central manual announcements are given to ensure that people are aware of the lack of stations the train calls at. The Sunday service calls at all mainline stations.
The station is unusual in that it is not owned by Network Rail but privately by Stena Line. |
