Trains to Eastbourne - Station Details and further Information on Eastbourne Train Services

Eastbourne train station serves Eastbourne in East Sussex, England. It is on the East Coastway Line, and train services are provided by Southern.

The present station (the town's third), design by F.D. Bannister, dates from 1886. It was originally the terminus of what was termed the Eastbourne Branch from Polegate. There was a rarely-used triangular junction between Polegate and the now-closed Stone Cross which allowed trains to bypass the Branch; the track has now been lifted.

The first station at the end of the then single track branch was opened on 14 May 1849 As the town became an ever more popular seaside resort two further stations followed the first. Most passenger services along the coast served the station, as today. Trains reverse at the station to continue their journey along the East Coastway by using a junction north of Hampden Park train station; services run either east (to Hastings and Ashford International) or west via Lewes (to Brighton or London Victoria) from the station.
