Dunbar train station serves the town of Dunbar in East Lothian, Scotland. It is located on the East Coast Main Line and is a single platform station. The platform is located on a loop adjacent to the main through lines.
The station is served by National Express East Coast and CrossCountry. It is managed by National Express East Coast and as is noteworthy as being one of only two National Rail stations in Scotland not to be managed either by First ScotRail or Network Rail, the other being Glasgow Prestwick Airport train station. It is also one of few train stations in Scotland not to be served by First ScotRail.
The station is served mainly by CrossCountry trains on the Bournemouth to Edinburgh route (with projections to/from Dundee/Aberdeen or Glasgow Central). These trains serve Dunbar at roughly two-hourly intervals throughout the day. Crosscountry also operate an early morning departure to Glasgow Central together with a late night return.
A limited number of National Express East Coast services also stop at Dunbar on the main London to Edinburgh route. Some trains continue to either Dundee/Aberdeen or Glasgow Central. |
