Trains to Bridgend - Station Details and further Information on Bridgend Train Services
Bridgend train station is a mainline train station serving the town of Bridgend, South Wales. It is located approximately halfway between Cardiff Central and Swansea at the point where the Maesteg Line diverges from the South Wales Main Line, and is the western terminus of the Vale of Glamorgan Line from Cardiff via Barry and Llantwit Major. It is the fifth busiest station in Wales after Cardiff Central, Cardiff Queen Street, Newport and Swansea.
Passenger services are operated by First Great Western to and from London Paddington and by Arriva Trains Wales to destinations across Wales. Main line services to Swansea and London run hourly (with a few peak period extras), whilst the various regional (e.g between Carmarthen & Manchester Piccadilly) and local services operated by ATW run every hour Mon-Sat (apart from the 'Swanline' stopping trains between Cardiff & Swansea, which run two-hourly).
On Sundays, there is an hourly main line service and one every two hours along the Vale of Glamorgan line and to Carmarthen and Manchester. There is no Sunday service to Maesteg. |
