Trains to Bedwyn - Station Details and further Information on Bedwyn Train Services
Bedwyn train station is a train station in the village of Great Bedwyn in the county of Wiltshire in England. It is also the main station for the market town of Marlborough a few miles away. A bus from the town connects with most trains on Mondays to Saturdays.
The station has basic facilities including a bus-type shelter on both sides and an information screen on the Newbury-bound platform only (this is due to the fact that no trains continued anywhere beyond Bedwyn in the direction of Westbury until December 2006). To cross from one platform to another you have to go up to the main road, which crosses the railway.
The station is served by local services operated by First Great Western from London Paddington, Reading and Newbury. Local trains terminate at Bedwyn, and the station has a siding at the west of the station where they reverse. The station is also served by Intercity HSTs that continue to Exeter St. Davids and Taunton. The next station on the line heading west is Pewsey, but few trains serve both stations. |
