Trains to Ammanford - Station Details and further Information on Ammanford Train Services

Ammanford railway station, serves the town of Ammanford, West Wales. The station was opened as Duffryn in 1841 as a temporary terminus of the Llanelly Railway line to Llandeilo and the branch to Cross Hands making it one of the earliest railway stations. The station has had several changes of name over the years. It is located is 24.5 miles north of Swansea on the Heart of Wales Line.

The train station is located at street level near the centre of the town at Station Road. As with most of the stations on the Heart of Wales Line the original rather elegant station buildings and signal box have been levelled and replaced with a modern shelter.

All trains serving the station are operated by Arriva Trains Wales. There are four trains a day in each direction, between Swansea and Shrewsbury, from Monday to Saturday, and two services on Sundays.
