First Capital Connect Information
First Capital Connect operates trains between London, Brighton, Bedford, Peterborough, Cambridge and King's Lynn over the UK's busiest rail network.
First Capital Connect has been operating train services on the National Rail network since April 2006. It is owned by First Group and combines the service on the cross-London Thameslink railway line.
First Group continues to offer high quality passenger facilities onboard their trains. First Capital Connect trains have been updated with new external liveries and continued development of their on-board services. As well as the update of the onboard services, First Group are conducting a multi-million pound programme of upgrades for several major stations. The full term of the current franchise is 9 years until 2015.
As well as their First Capital Connect operations, First Group also operate a number of other franchises on the National Rail Network. These include First Great Western, First Scotrail, First Transpennine Express and First Hull Trains. In addition to this the First Group also operate the Croydon tramlink.
