Elipsos is a joint venture between the French national railway, SNCF, and the Spanish national railway, RENFE. It was created in 2001 to handle the logistics of Trenhotel railway services between Spain and France, Switzerland, and Italy.
Trains managed by Elipsos include Francisco de Goya (Madrid Chamartin-Paris Austerlitz),
Joan Miró (Barcelona Estació de França-Paris Gare d'Austerlitz),
Pau Casals (Barcelona-Zurich) and
Salvador Dalí (Barcelona-Milan). The Elipsos bed carriages are operated by Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits and by the different national railway companies. In France the train is pulled by an SNCF locomotive, in Italy by a Trenitalia one, in Spain by a RENFE one and in Switzerland by an SBB CFF FFS one.
