About Sea France Ferries

SeaFrance began operations between Dover and Calais in 1996 after the termination of a pooling agreement with Sealink (by then known as Stena Sealink Line) in 1995. The service initially began with the former Sealink vessels Fiesta and Côte d'Azur which became SeaFrance Cézanne and SeaFrance Renoir respectively after extensive refurbishments to create a distinctive French atmosphere on board. Former Sealink train ferry Nord Pas-de-Calais became the SeaFrance Nord Pas-de-Calais and operated as a freight only ferry though SeaFrance did market the ship to passengers as a quiet ship. The three vessels were later joined by the former Stena Londoner which became the SeaFrance Monet. SeaFrance quickly became the 2nd busiest operator on the Dover - Calais route after P&O European Ferries and ahead of their former partners now known as Stena Line. In 1997 the SeaFrance Manet entered service after a 5 year charter to Stena Line for the Newhaven-Dieppe service, the ship essentially replaced the Monet which was later sold after being damaged in Calais. SeaFrance took delivery of the SeaFrance Rodin in 2001, their first new ship and the fastest Dover-Calais ferry. She was joined in 2005 by the SeaFrance Berlioz, a sister ship built at a different yard.

The SeaFrance Molière

The SeaFrance Molière is a brand new addition to the SeaFrance fleet. The ferry measures 203 metres long and 25 metres wide. It will provide passengers with 2,500 sq. metres of new space. Interesting features on this superb new vessel include Le Relais, a 238 cover restaurant, Les Routiers an 80 cover restaurant, the 74 cover Brasserie grillroom, Le Pub, a 380 seat bar, Latitudes 148 seat bar and the transport café. There are also many rest areas, shops and alsoan entertainment zone for the kids. The Moliere offers 1,900 metres of car decks holding up to 480 vehicles or 110 trucks.

The SeaFrance Cézanne

The recently refurbished SeaFrance Cézanne has a charming French ambiance that passengers just love. It's recent refit has ensured that it meets the latest standards of comfort and safety. The SeaFrance Cézanne has been completely upgraded and redesigned to ensure it is in keeping with the rest of the SeaFrance fleet. A number of customer amenaties are available on board including restaurants, bars and entertainment.

The SeaFrance Rodin

The SeaFrance Rodin came into service in 2001, labeled as the most luxurious ferry on the cross-Channel route. The SeaFrance Rodin boasts a choice of stylish restaurants and bars, onboard boutique, children’s play area and gaming zones. Double height windows in the welcome lounge offer passengers spectacular sea views. This modern vessel for all it's luxurious services is no slouch. This modern vessel gets you accross the channel quicker than some of the older vessels servicing the Dover Calais route. The SeaFrance Berlioz

The SeaFrance Berlioz came into service in early April 2005. Built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, world specialists in cruise ship construction. The vessel offers high quality restaurants and bars. As well as many other services on board you will find Le Brasserie, SeaFrance's acclaimed fine dining restaurant. The SeaFrance Renoir

The SeaFrance Renoir offers passengers on the Dover-Calais route the highest standards of comfort and luxury. As with the other vessels, the large windows in the public areas offer fantastic views over the sea. Crossing time onboard the Renoir is less than an hour and a half and with so much to do on board the travel time just flies by!
