MV Oleander Ferry

In 1998 P&O European Ferries became P&O Stena Line and the change of owner was again followed by a change of name a year later, this time to P&OSL Picardy. However, P&OSL Picardy was laid up in 2000, later being sold to Transeuropa Ferries, renamed Oleander and introduced as a freight only ferry between Ostend and Ramsgate on 04 July 2002. Two years later they added a passenger service (20 July 2004) using the MV Oleander and MV Larkspur.

MF Oleander was originally built in 1980. Larkspar can hold up to 350 cars and up to 1326 passengers. When crossing Oleander travels at a speed of 22 kn. Oleander was built at Schichau-Unterweser, Bremerhaven in Germany. The vessel, with it's long history, still continues to offer an efficiaent reliable service between Ramsgate in the South East of England and Ostend in Belgium.
