Nuraghes is a Ferry in service with the ferry company Tirrenia. She sails mainly on Tirrenia's Sardinian routes. Nuraghes was built at Castellammare di Stabia shipyard in Italy and enetered into service with Tirrenia de Navigazione in June 2004. Nuraghes has 320 cabins and around one thousand reclining seats. Nuraghes along with her identicle sister ship, Sharden is part of a new generation of ferries offering a very fast speed of service for ferries of their size. Standard cruise ferries travel at speeds of around 20 knots. With 4 Wärtsilä engines that deliver more than 62,000 kW of power Tirennia Nuraghes travels at a staggering 30 knots. The creation of the vessels set a new satndard in ferry travel with the intoduction of Fast Cruise Ferries being a cross between standard cruise ferries and High Speed Catamarans. With it's high speed services Naraghes can make the crossing between Civitavecchia and Olbia in less than 5 hours or the route between Genoa and Porto Torres in less than 8. Nuraghes can accommodate 3000 passengers on board as well as more than 1000 cars.

Despite the option of the fast crossings the Nuraghes highspeed services are generally only used daytime sailings in high season, when the vessel travels to high capacity therefor justifying the higher consumption of fuel. On quiet sailings Nuraghes will travel at a speed of between the 19 and 23 knots.
