Rosyth Port Ferry Overview

Rosyth is located on Scotland's east coast, three miles south of the centre of Dunfermline. Rosyth was built to form the coastal port of the modern city and Royal Burgh of Dunfermline in the early part of the 20th century. Rosyth is near to Inverkeithing, only separated by the M90 motorway. Rosyth is approximately 11 miles north west of Edinburgh. The port has the only direct ferry service to the European mainland from Scotland with a direct route from the port of Rosyth to Zeebrugge in Belgium.

The Port lies on the north bank of the River Forth upstream of the Forth road and rail bridges, well sited for the main North Sea shipping lanes and oil and gas fields. Rosyth enjoys excellent road links with the Scottish and UK motorway network to the main centres of population; it is also rail linked, for customers who prefer or require an alternative to road distribution.

A number of businesses have set up in the port, including a pallet manufacturing plant and an offshore support facility. Norfolkline Ferries operate passenger services from the port, to Zeebrugge in Belgium.
