Hever Castle, Tunbridge Wells and Penshurst Place

Departing London, you will head to Kent, one of the most beautiful areas in England. Your first stop is the 13th century, Hever Castle, this was the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII’s second wife. After spending time at the Castle it’s a short drive to the Historic spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. This elegant town was once a rival to Bath, when it was a fashionable spa town in the 17th to 19th centuries.

After leaving Tunbridge you will head for probably the greatest family-owned stately home, Penshurst Place, where time has seemingly stood still for over six centuries. Penshurst Place is still very much a medieval building where the highlight is undoubtedly the medieval Barons’ Hall.

Jack the Ripper's Sinister London Tour

You’ll also get the chance to see parts of London in the shadow of the financial district that have barely changed since Victorian times, with long-forgotten streets, secret squares, and quiet corners where time stands still. Kensigton Palace

A Royal residence since 1689, visitors are free to explore the magnificent State Apartments and the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection.

Kensington Palace has been a royal home for over 300 years and parts of the palace remain a private residence for members of the Royal Family today. The magnificent State Apartments and the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, which includes dresses worn by HM Queen Elizabeth II and Diana, Princess of Wales, are open to the public. Palace open daily from 10.00am until 5.00pm daily except 24-26 December, and 1 January. This pass entitles you to entry to the Palace only.

Shakespeare Country

First stop on this wonderful tour will be the City of Oxford, which will include a walking tour to take in some of the major sights including Christchurch College, where Harry Potter scenes were filmed and where Albert Einstein studied - make sure you bring your camera! You will also see the Bodleian library and the picture-perfect College courtyards for which Oxford is justifiably famous.

Then on to the Cotswolds, a charming blend of cottages with honey-coloured walls and thatched roofs, market towns with crooked half-timbered houses lining the High Street, and ancient stone crosses, all set in the gently rolling hills ('wolds') that are so typically English in character. You will then travel through the rolling Warwickshire hills to Stratford-upon-Avon, a market town at the edge of the Forest of Arden made famous for being the birthplace of the world-famous playwright William Shakespeare. You will visit the Tudor-style birthplace of William Shakespeare, gaining a fascinating insight into his childhood with its typical parlour, bedrooms, kitchen, buttery and of course the glove-maker's workshop used by John, Shakespeare's father.

Finally, it's a short drive over to the medieval Warwick Castle, most of whose magnificent towers and ramparts are still intact. Warwick Castle will take you back through its 1,000 year history as you enter over the footbridge to a bygone world of banquets, battles and ceremony. Visit the Tussaud’s waxwork, or if you're feeling brave visit the spine-chilling dungeons where prisoners were tortured. You might wish to stroll through the Castle's delightful and lovingly tended gardens set in the peaceful surroundings of England's finest medieval Castle. During the summer months, archery, falconry and jousting take place. After Warwick Castle we head back through the Warwickshire countryside to London.

St Pauls Cathedral

A famous Cathedral dedicated to St Paul has overlooked the City of London since 604AD. Situated on the north bank of the River Thames St Paul's distinctive dome was designed by Sir Christopher Wren in 1710 after the great fire of 1666 destroyed the original church. The cathedral consists of the Crypt, Ambulatory and Whispering Gallery. A sightseeing trip to London is not complete without a visit to the famous St Paul's Cathederal!

The Cathedral is open Monday to Saturday from 08.30am until last admission to the Cathedral for sightseeing is at 4.00pm. Please note special services and events may close all or part of the Cathedral - sometimes at short notice.

Tower of London and Thames River Cruise

London was built along the shores of the Thames 2,000 years ago – what better way to experience the city than to travel along its river on a Thames River Cruise!

You’ll get stunning uninterrupted views of the Gothic style Houses of Parliament, the London Eye perched high over the River, the South Bank Arts Complex built for the 1951 Festival of Britain and of course many of London’s famous bridges the way they were meant to be seen – passing under them! Then it’s onto the Tower of London. Jet black ravens guard this ancient fortress steeped in centuries of murder, treason and the untold secrets of the condemned... Treasures of Kent

Leeds Castle is famous for the shimmering lake that surrounds it lending it an air of serene grandeur. After Leeds Castle, its on to Kent, the County known as 'the garden of England', we make our way to Canterbury, the birthplace of English Christianity. The tour continues through the picturesque landscape of Kent dotted with unusual buildings and quaint little villages to Dover, where you'll see the famous White Cliffs standing 400 feet above sea level.
